One of the questions I get asked the most often is “How did you learn how to blog?” Everyone that knows me knows I’ve been a travel agent since I was about 2 years old LOL. So, when they become aware of one of my blogs…they wonder.
- How did I start blogging?
- Why did I start?
- How did I learn?
- Does a person need to be a total geek to start a blog?
So I thought I’d address some of those questions here and share with you where it all started.
There are a few different reasons why people blog. The most common are:
- For a business they already have
- As a hobby
Sometimes people start blogging as a hobby and figure out much later that they can actually turn their blog into a business.
In my case, I got interested in blogging years ago. After all, I’ve been self-employed for 35 years, remember? But I never did anything about it, and once I did start blogging…I did everything I possibly could to get it wrong 🙂 Yep, it’s true. So I stopped blogging for a long while because I didn’t think there was any point.
But deep down I knew that blogging was the “little guys” way of playing in the same sandbox as all the big guys online. You just had to take the time to figure it out.
So that became my mission. I’ve learned alot, and still have a ways to go of course.
But this is where it all started, and I’ve dedicated a whole separate blog (haha, imagine that) to my journey in figuring it out.
