Travel & Intentional Living

Travel doesn’t stop being meaningful after a certain age – if anything, it becomes more intentional.

With more life experience behind us, many of us start traveling differently: more thoughtfully, a bit more comfortably, and with a much clearer sense of what’s actually worth our time, energy, and luggage space.

This is where I share real-life travel from the road – the places that surprised me, the ones that lived up to the hype, and the occasional “note to self: never do that again” moment. You’ll find practical insights, honest observations, and long-stay travel ideas shaped by decades in the travel industry and years of spending extended time abroad.

But this section isn’t just about destinations. It’s also about creating a lifestyle with more flexibility, mobility, curiosity, and freedom built into it. For me, travel became part of a much larger decision to redesign life more intentionally – including downsizing, simplifying, and creating a lifestyle that allows for slower, longer, more meaningful experiences.

Here you’ll find conversations about:

  • Long-stay travel and living abroad
  • Slow travel and flexible lifestyles
  • Comfort-first travel strategies
  • Travel logistics that actually matter after 50
  • Smart splurges versus tourist traps
  • Designing a more mobile lifestyle
  • Real-world travel experiences – including the imperfect parts

No influencer posing on cliffs at sunrise. No pretending every trip is magical.

Just thoughtful travel, intentional living, and figuring it out as we go.
